چکیده

Abstract Plants that expand their range and become invasive in other areas may shift several functional traits response to specific environments. However, local conditions at the place of origin have shaped traits, which some extent remain visible plants growing new habitats. The present study aimed explore trait variation different plant populations native, naturalized status Bunias orientalis grown common relation climatic origin. Seeds B. were collected from 12 (4 per status) 8 countries under standardized a field garden. related phenology, growth reproduction was compared among populations. Phenology did not differ according status. native populations, originating with low annual temperatures, start flowering. produced more leaves than natives, potentially indicating vigor building up vegetative biomass. Number mass silicles groups but varied Some be explained by long-term adaptations genetic diversity, while environmental factors differing novel environment contribute high variation.
